Diamond Valley Rail has poineered the use of LEDs for their signals.

Track and Loco sensors

They will also be using tags on locamotives and track sensors that will enable them to identify particular locomotives as they pass a sensor placed in the track. By using the AD1000 Radio Modem, this data can be sent back to the home base with time stamp and a log can also be established. The sensor and radio modem can also be solar powered.

Radio Modem

This can be used to control lights, points or other items. It can also give feedback to the controlling end so that confirmation of operation is known.
